It Costs Nothing to be Polite
When I was thirteen-years-old, my family moved from Oregon to Florida. To that point in my life, I’d lived in Germany, Washington state, and Oregon. There is a HUGE cultural difference between the Pacific Northwest and the Southeastern United States, and it manifested itself in my first southern classroom.
IV’s, Buckle Fractures, & Vacation
Poor Jeb was in such pain that they gave him an IV and a shot of Morphine. That eased the pain enough to allow him to play cars with Scott. There’s hardly anything worse than holding down your 2-year-old while two strangers put an IV in him. I know. I’ve had to do it to all three of my kids right around that age.
A Time of Rest
Ten days ago, I left my home in Kentucky and headed south to Tallahassee, Florida. I got into town Thursday afternoon, visited friends, and went to another friend’s house for the evening. Friday morning I did some business at the courthouse, had lunch with friends, picked Kaylee up from school, had dinner with friends, and went back to a friend’s house for the evening. Saturday morning, we headed south toward the Florida Panhandle’s coast, picking up a friend of Kaylee’s on the way, and took up residence in a little beach house in Mexico Beach.
April Give-Away: VeggieTales Planters & Garden Kit
I’m sitting on a beach in Florida with my kids, enjoying this beautiful April weather.
I’m taking the week off from my normal blogging schedule. Instead, I have different recipes queued to post daily.
But as I relax and take a break, please take a moment to enter this month’s give-away!
As we enter the beginning of gardening season, I could not help but offer the following as a give-away for the month of April
Favorite Turkey Salad Recipe
One weekend before deployment, Gregg had a weekend pass and I was sick. He disappeared into the kitchen and came out with the most amazing sandwich. I’ve been trying to duplicate it ever since.
