Welcome to March! As we enter into this month with a lion’s roar (and as I type this, a cold wind is blowing my flag so hard that it’s hitting the side of my house) and hopefully end it with a mew of a gentle lamb (mmm – Easter dinner), we’ll take some time during the changing of the seasons to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Here is a quote from my St. Patrick’s Day post from last year:
To those who celebrate its intended meaning, Saint Patrick’s Day is a traditional day for spiritual renewal and offering prayers for missionaries worldwide. Of the many symbols we associate with this holiday, most notable is likely the Shamrock, which happens to be the National Flower of Ireland. Saint Patrick used the three leaves of the Shamrock to explain the Holy Trinity to pagans and unbelievers.
So, in the spirit of St. Patrick, a Welsh slave who escaped captivity in Ireland only to return to the land of his captivity and preach the Gospel, this month’s giveaway will be what we’re calling a “Miss-Away” – a donation to your favorite mission. It can be your local church, a missionary group, a youth camp, an orphanage, your town’s soup kitchen — you choose and we will donate $100.00 and then showcase your favorite mission on Monday, March 7th.
There are 7 ways to enter:
- Leave a comment below and tell us what your favorite mission is and why. If it’s possible, leave a link so that we can get to know them, too.
- Say a prayer for your mission, or another one on this list, and leave a comment saying that you did (or leave your prayer! I’m sure someone can get a blessing from that!)
- Blog about this giveaway and leave a comment with the link to your blog post about it.
- Subscribe to my RSS feed — leave a comment telling me that you have or that you’re already subscribed.
- Subscribe to my email updates — leave a comment telling me that you have or that you’re already subscribed.
- Follow my Tweets on Twitter and leave a comment saying that you now tweet– or leave a comment saying that you already tweet me.
- Become a Google friend and leave a comment saying that we’re friends — or leave a comment saying that you and I are already friends.
PLEASE leave a comment for each separate entry. I’d hate to not count one that should have been counted.
I would really love it if you became a Fan of Hallee the Homemaker on Facebook, and love it even more if you talk about this giveaway on Facebook, but because of their new rules I am not allowed to use that as a contest entry.
God bless you and I really look forward to learning about your favorite missions!

My favorite Charity is Helping Hearts Helping Hands. This charity won your Miss-away last year. It is a Honduran Orphanage. They are now set-up and in the last stages before they can receive children. Here is the Link: http://www.helpingheartshelpinghands.org/
Bless this beautiful and talented young woman, Erica, who runs helping hearts helping hands. Let her vision be yours Lord. Help her to attain the funding and governmental approvals that she needs to carry out your work with these orphans. Protect her from the devastation and terror within the country. To your glory Lord. Amen

My favorite mission is DOMA international. It’s an international organization run by a local woman and friend. Its mission is to help women and orphans around the world. In our local area, it has a mission for women who have a history in sex trafficking abuse. Last year I was blessed to prepare a luncheon in honor of these strong women. Internationally, DOMA supports teenaged orphans in the Urkaine and Russia (who are kicked out of the orphanage at age 16, and are frequently forced to make a living on the streets. Their progeny, of course, often end up back in the orphanages. DOMA works to teach these young, victimized, single mothers how to be moms to their babies). They also have missions in Ethiopia and Uganda.

I prayed for DOMA. :)
My favorite is Forgotten Voices International! They are a small organization that provides assistance to churches in Zimbabwe and Zambia so that they in turn can help the local families. One primary target is the children, especially those who have been orphaned due to AIDS. By providing school fees for these children and cleaning supplies, the family can use the saved money to buy food/ seeds or pay someone to work their land. This in-turn helps another person/family and then another and so on. In these countries if someone dies of AIDS often the other family members “forget” the ones left behind, so there are many children that are left responsible for their younger siblings. $100 will send two children to school for a year! A meal everyday, uniform, books for the whole year. http://www.forgottenvoices.org

Lord, continue to bless the hands that help those voices that are being forgotten! But, you see those children and families- you NEVER forget! Thank you! Amen
they are on Facebook too… Forgotten Voices
My favorite is Life Choices Women’s Clinic. They offer free and low cost care for women (and men) who can’t afford services, especially crisis pregnancy situations. They not only do THAT, but they offer classes, resources and tons of other things to help these families in need. I love it, and I’m glad that they’re in my area. They’ve grown so much in the past few years and I would love to see them continue to flourish.

I would love to get help with my own charity that I left a bit of info and prayer for on your page. I call it ” Feeding the homeless for Jesus”. I do this out of my kitchen and me and my special needs son are the only 2 people doing it right now. We feed about 35-50 homeless people every weekend in our city because there is no soup kitchen or food pantry all weekend long and people in our own country do NOT belong starving! Especially children! SO I am doing all I can to find money and food to feed them until I can get some churches to come together and feed our citys homeless! To me I am just me but to God I am the leader of a field of hungry sheep! He put this on my heart and I shall follow his lead! :O)

Dear Lord
Please bless the site Hallee The Homemaker for all she is doing to help others! Please send her the help and wisdom she needs to keep her site smooth and helpful to others! Please bless her family as well for the time they forfeit for her to do all these goods for people in the world. Bless her and all who enter here hoping for help for their charity as well! In Jesus name I pray ! AMEN!
I shared the link for this on my FB page!
I choose Amnion Crisis Pregnancy Center. They go beyond convincing young women to not abort or to adopt out their babies and support them through pregnancies. They also connect them with organizations that can help them in areas that Amnion cannot. They offer help to families with clothing, diapers, cribs etc as they have the ability, and while sharing God’s love with them do not require belief to help. They teach kids how to protect their hearts, and offer counseling and support groups for women who have chosen abortion and need to heal.
