Menu Monday 31 JAN 2011

Posted by Hallee on Jan 31, 2011 in Hallee's Galley, menus & menu planning

Here’s the menu for my family for the week of January 31st. As far as desserts go, we’re going to mail Gregg’s Valentine’s Day box, so I need to make some pink sugar cookies. I’m also going to send him some homemade granola bars, and I think I’m going to make the kids some Decadent Cookies & Cream Cupcakes.

I am personally focusing on a four-month personal fitness challenge, which will include what I eat and when I eat it, and will involve me working out and running daily. I’m not going to do a lot about it here. My husband, Gregg, is starting up a blog about his personal journey with fitness and will leave all of that kind of blogging to him. There will be times that the kids eat something different from me (for instance, I don’t expect them to want tuna in their scrambled eggs). In those instances, I’ll have two meals listed – one for me and one for them.

Creation: The Modern View Stepping Backward II

Posted by Gregg on Jan 30, 2011 in apologetics, Christian Faith, Creation, homeschooling

I suppose it would be easier for my detractors if I were to passively consent to endlessly repeat myself, isolating my side of the main argument only to very finite details of the Darwinist religion here-and-there, those minuscule items of data with which my opponents have more than a passing familiarity. Then, those tiny little shreds of insignificant points could be held up as straw men amidst the multitude of monolithic refutations I can present, have presented, and will continue to present. Those little nothing straw men could then be ceremonially burned in effigy for the satisfaction of the lemmings, and the spiritually immature Darwinist detractor could then leave the field feeling victorious and even, dare I say, a bit self-righteous.

The Power of a Praying Wife: Chapter 19 – His Past

Posted by Hallee on Jan 29, 2011 in Christian Faith, Holy matrimony, Marriage, Prayer, Praying Wife

Gregg and I were married when he was 34. In those 34 years leading up to meeting me, he had buried his mother, graduated high school, fought in a war, got out of the military, attended three colleges, obtained 30 professional certifications, started a career, gotten married, gotten divorced, and lived another five years dating and working and existing.

Long story short, he’d lived thirty-four years.

Blizzard Bloghop

Posted by Hallee on Jan 27, 2011 in Blog Stuff

For those of you who read me who are not in the “blogging world”, this weekend is a huge blogging conference called Blissdom. Some of us couldn’t go because an ocean separates them from Nashville, some of us chose not to go because we just met up with our husbands in Kuwait while he took a vacation from Afghanistan last week and we thought the stress of Mommy going away for another whole weekend would be too much for our toddlers, and some of us just couldn’t go.

It’s a Party!

Posted by Hallee on Jan 24, 2011 in Blog Stuff, Giveaways, Hallee's Galley

My house is in a state of “too much traveling in too short of a time” chaos. In an effort to help me in the only way that he can from so far away, my awesome husband took the initiative and posted four amazing and healthy pizza recipes so that I can take the week “off” and get caught up with life. And because he is much more diligent about details than me, you’re even getting nutritional information in these recipes!
