Blizzard Bloghop Tour: Seven Is Heaven

The Blizzard BlogHop Tour

The Blissdom Blizzard Bloghop was SO much fun. We’re here for round seven as I play tour guide on a whirlwind trip through the Blissdom Blizzard folks who got snowed in and Bloghopped instead. I reacquainted myself with some great friends I already knew and hopefully made some new friends along the way. I’ll post about 10 tourspots a day in no particular order until we get through the list.

Okay — I had to skip a few blogs, though. I have committed to keeping my blog child safe and family friendly, so if a linked blog was too “edgy” then I couldn’t make it a tour spot. Rest assured I probably enjoyed visiting — depending on the edginess factor — appreciate your efforts, think of you fondly, and please don’t take it personally.

That said, help yourself to coffee or hot chocolate. Grab some warm (but still stylish) shoes, and your purse of course, and since it’s a blizzard maybe a matching scarf and gloves, and let’s go hopping.

Welcome to Raging Bear Ranch! Meet frugal Nancy and her husband, the Bear. This is a NEAT couple! They are involved in Search and Recovery and have two SAR certified canines (along with their 8 horses and 2 other dogs!) You can’t help but get an idea of their personalities reading about poor Bear’s LBSCBDO and their adventures with it!

Next, meet Kim at Who Needs Sleep? The first thing I noticed about this blog is how nice it looks. It’s very calming and charming at the same time. Then I read that Kim is a web designer. You go, girl. You have a beautiful blog. She also has a precious new baby who is just 3 months old and probably still has that new baby smell. When my kids were that little, I’d just put my nose to their heads and inhale. As I write this, precious cutie pie baby boy is in a photo contest on parents.com. How exciting! Kim is obviously very much in love with her husband, who never hangs up the phone without saying, “I love you.” She is new to blogging, but I’m really looking forward to getting to know her and her handsome men better.

Hop along and meet MTM on her Front Porch Looking In.  MTM is obviously an amazing woman. You would have to be to be a rape crisis counselor. God bless you, sister. She’s been married for just under a year (and got married on the 19th anniversary of the day I graduated high school – yes, who’s feeling old now?), and her handsome husband is a captain in the Army. She has a whole post about St. Augustine, Florida, where she and her husband enjoyed a little get-away, and is also where Kaylee’s dad was raised. Small world, eh? She has a goal to do the Susan G. Komen 5K. Those of you who read me know my passion for breast cancer causes and Komen in particular. We’re rooting for you, MTM!

Our fourth blog tour spot is TCD at TCD Ramblings who says she is a crazy “spazzastic” Military Brat turned College student with little time on her hands. Her Foxworthy-esque post on “You Know You’re a Military Brat When” made me laugh, because I’m an army brat and I found so many things where I said, “Oh yeah,” and, “Yep,” and, “That’s me!”   LOL!   I also loved her tribute to chaplains and Cast In Crowns called Praising in this Storm – which is one of my favorite songs of all time.

Veronica at A Quiet Heart is our halfway mark, today.  We are greeted with the quotation, “A quiet heart is content with what God gives. It is enough. All is grace.”  I just want to say that I LOVE this blog. This is her sidebar information about herself: I am blessed to be a [homemaker,] pastor’s wife and homeschooling mommy of one. In a chaotic world, where so many things clamor for attention, I am seeking to have A Quiet Heart… One that is passionately obedient to God’s Word, and content in the roles, responsibilities, blessings, and trials that my Heavenly Father, in His infinite wisdom, has seen fit to give me… What a neat neat lady. I am so looking forward to digging in deeper to the bible studies she offers, her homemaking posts, and her Biblical views of things worldly. Her life happens post sounded reminiscent of a post of mine. I will definitely be back to this blog – regularly. Veronica is someone with whom I would love to just take a quiet moment and share a cup of coffee.

Everyone rested up?  We’re halfway done.  Stay together.

Hop over to meet Becky at her My Life from (Army) Brat to (Army) Wife blog. Becky is a newlywed wife to an Army Officer (and gentleman), who absolutely spoils her with his love. She claims, “I’m not happy unless I have my nose in a book, a mixing bowl in my arms, or am working on a craft project of some sort.” Becky is working the Husband Project. I’ve read about it, and it’s awesome to see it being put to use. (I didn’t get into it when I researched it because my Gregg is in Afghanistan – I’m going to work it when he’s home.) Along the side of her blog, where most of us have a blog roll or related bloggy links, Becky has a list of books she’s reading, read, or wants to read. This list is amazing and impressive. At the footer are these encouraging Bible verses: Genesis 2:24; Genesis 31:49; Jeremiah 29:11; Habakkuk 2:3; Song of Solomon 6:3

Grab your your purses and let’s hop up to living thrifty.  Couponing to be Debt Free is getting out of debt – one coupon at a time (while paying for her daughter’s wedding!) Her intent in starting the blog was to help keep herself accountable, but it is now a “wealth” of information for her readers! She has only been blogging for a couple of months, but the blog is so organized and so educational that it is purely an asset to the blogging community!

Nugglemamas Handful is a mom to 5 completely adorable kids and loving wife to her “computer geek” husband, where they live together in Quebec, Canada.  She has the neatest post on her blog – an interview with her oldest daughter. It is so precious.  Her Mommyhood Laws Of Probability and the 10 ways children are like cats speak to her sense of humor and her graceful parenting.

Just two blogs to go.  Everyone comfortable?

Hop up to meet Lynn at Welcome to our Chaos! Lynn is wife to Army man and helicopter pilot James, and mommy to 3 girls and a boy. They are currently stationed at Ft. Campbell (not far from my house) and preparing for deployment number four (God bless them). Lynn has just been blogging for a couple of months, but I really look forward to getting to know her and her “chaotic” family more!

Our last stop is to meet Julie at Come Have a Peace. The whole feel of the blog as it opens just exudes welcome and peacefulness. It’s is beautifully designed, and I anticipate the opportunity to spend some time digging deeper. Julie and her husband have been married for almost 20 years. She describes her husband as a man who has a heart for God and the wilderness. They have a teen and a Tween, Jake and Jo (and I can relate because my tween turns teen next month *sniff*).  Julie has a degree in Education with an emphasis in Bible and Church Education from Cedarville University. I am really looking forward to reading Julie’s Marriage Mondays and discovering some new and delicious recipes.

That concludes today’s tour.  I have to say, I had just as much fun today as on day one and I pray you did too.  When you visit these awesome blogs, don’t be shy about leaving a comment.  We bloggers LOVE comments.
