Bible/Book Study – Vote for Your Choice!
My friend, Meg, and I met for lunch the other day and, during a moment of discussing the blog, she requested that at some time in the future we do a Bible study.
My dad says that there are never any coincidences with God, and I’ve felt a nagging call to do a book study with you, then had this conversation with Meg, and have since been unable to get either of them out of my mind.
So, I’m bringing it to you. I would like to do a Bible/book study that would most benefit you. Knowing who my audience is, I think an awesome place to start would be one of two books by Stormie Omartian. Both books have been wonderful tools for me, have provided substantial encouragement, and taught me a few things as well.
They are:

You tell me which one you’d rather do. We will leave this post stickied all week so everyone coming to the site has a chance to “vote”, and then we will give everyone time to get their books ordered and begin the study on May 1st, which is the first Saturday in May. Don’t let not being able to afford it stop you from participating – we’ll try to get everyone a book if we need to, and I’m certain almost every church library in the country has each of these books on its shelf.
We’ll do the study with posts and comments, but if there’s a large enough interest, I’ll see what Gregg can do about installing a message board on the blog.
Thank you, Meg, for the physical push from the Spirit. I love you, sister.
Everyone else – place your vote for your study of preference!

I’m so grateful for your visit, today.
You would bless me if you added me to your

I just found your blog, and I’m so glad I did! I have The Power of a Praying Parent at home, and would love to do a study with it. I would do either, but I know my teenager and almost teenager could use some targeted prayer right now, so I’d rather start with that. I can’t promise to “do all the homework”, etc., but I’ll chime in when I can…….
i guess its a toss up…i need to check the library to see what i can find!
Hello! Just found your blog this last week. So interesting that you would post this study idea, as I felt that God is leading me to read either book, but especially the parent one. I have three teenage sons, two who have turned away from the Lord. I’ll try to follow along with either study, my public library has both books but I will probably buy the one you choose. Not sure if I can keep up with all the homework, but I will try my best.
I would love to do both. Right now though, “The Power of a Praying Parent” would be the perfect study for me. I know my teens, and even my little ones NEED prayer…but more importantly, I NEED to be praying for them with more power!!
I would love a study with both books. I think I need to focus more on my marriage right now, so I think I would like the The Power of a Praying Wife more.
What a wonderful idea.
[Hallee, I’ve missed you! I still haven’t had time to sit and catch up with everybody. But I’ve been thinking about you! 2 weeks away from the computer makes coming back to it very overwhelming! But I’ll be back in the swing of things shortly!]
I’ve missed you, too! You haven’t been far from my thoughts or my prayers, though. It’s awesome to see you back!
I like the idea of both! I have heard wonderful things about each of the books you’re offering. For me, personally, I think The Power Of A Praying Wife is more of a resource because we already get a lot of parental support through our church with ParentZone. But, what’s even *more* support if the other book is chosen? I will gladly participate in either. Thanks for the offer, Hallee. I really look forward to this new “chapter” on your blog! Love you, my Sister in Christ, Meg.
My vote would be the Power of a Praying Wife. But I also have Power of a Praying Parent.
What a neat idea. I can’t think of anyone I would rather do a bible study with, Hallee.
I read a bit of Power of a Praying Wife quite a few years back and I really liked it. I would do either study, but I think right now I would prefer P of a PW.
Either one! Not that I can afford either one, or have a current church… Ning has the ability to make message boards for this kind of thing. http://www.ning.com/
Kind of a pain since it’s not on your site but you could make one and link to it.
Thank you for the link!
There is actually one I can install on the site. I’ve already registered and we just have to hit “launch”, but I wasn’t positive there was enough of an interest in posting on a message board here, so I was giving the blog a little more time. I’m confident that Gregg will be able to do whatever he needs to do whenever it’s time to do it.
I love the power of a praying wife — and I would love to do a study with online friends!!!! :)
Praying wife!! Praying wife!!!!! Carletta just told me a week ago she felt impressed by God that I needed to read this book and she is blessing me w a copy!!! Talk about the timing of God! He’s so amazing! <3
