Here’s the menu for my family for the week of January 24th. For most of January, I’ve been traveling or recovering from traveling. As I type this, it’s Monday morning and I’m tired of eating out (and gaining weight), scrambling to get one suitcase unpacked and laundry done in order to get another suitcase packed, and desperate to get my household back on schedule. I have no plans to travel until at least the first weekend in March, and at best the first week of April. I need to make granola bars (which, in searching for the recipe to link for you, I strangely do not have one – that will be corrected as soon as possible), my whole wheat crackers jar is empty, and the cake plate is barren. My household is in a bit of disarray, but this week will correct that and the future will maintain that.Pin It

Here’s the menu for my family for the week of December 27th. As far as desserts go, we still have some Captain Crunch Candy and some fudge left, but the cookie jar is empty. I will probably make some easy cookie to fill the jar and use the left over marshmallow cream and Rice Crispies from the goodies I made last week and make some Rice Crispies treats. We’ll also make a celebration New Year’s 2011 cake.Pin It
Here’s the menu for my family for the week of September 20th. Wow! I can’t believe that Autumn is imminent. I love autumn cooking — rich stews made with root veggies, apples, squashes. YUM! As far as desserts go, I’m making an apple rosetta pie for my friend, Rose. I am mailing Gregg a box so I need to make some Oatmeal Raisin Cinnamon Chip Cookies. I am also going to attempt a Yummy Yellow Cake made with fresh ground whole wheat flour and see how that turns out taste and texturally.
Sunday I’ll be fasting completely, and next week I’ll be observing a Daniel Fast. I’ll write more about that later this week.Pin It
Here’s the menu for my family for the week of September 13th. This is my first week with my new schedule, so I will be doing all of my baking on Monday. My husband has requested Whole Wheat Oatmeal Raisin Cinnamon Chip Oatmeal Cookies. I also may try my hand at carrot cake – something I have never made before but something I’ve always wanted to try. A friend of mine posted on her Facebook a chocolate chip whole wheat pumpkin muffin recipe and said it was delicious. I have the rest of last year’s pumpkin in the freezer still, and pumpkins growing in the garden that will be used to replace the stash, so I need to do some pumpkin baking. I think chocolate chip pumpkin muffins is a brilliant use of my supply.Pin It
Here’s the menu for my family for the week of August 30th. As far as desserts go, I’m going to make a chocolate pudding with fresh cream one night. I think that I’ll also make some DoodleRoo’s Scrumptious Snickerdoodles! We will be going to my nephew’s 3rd birthday, and I’m making some Lightning McQueen cupcakes for that.Pin It
We are currently out of town visiting Birmingham, Alabama, so that my husband can fulfill his military obligations with the Alabama National Guard. We’re in a 2-bedroom hotel suite with a full kitchen, but there is no oven so I’m a little handicapped there. I also didn’t pack pots and pans, because a phone call to the hotel assured me that they had them there. What I have is one frying pan and one large pot. There is also 2 microwave “pots”, but I don’t know how to cook with those. Wandering the hotel grounds, I did find two gas grills out behind the pool. I’m going to inquire today to see if I can use those – which will aid tremendously in the quality of the meals.
