Amazing Butternut Squash Bisque

I watched a Top Chef one season, and late in the season toward the finals or maybe in the finals, one of the contestants made a butternut squash soup that had the judges wanting to lick their bowls. It seemed odd to me that something that should be as simple as a butternut squash soup, could illicit such a response from a group of people who taste amazing food all the time. It sent me on a quest to find a recipe that good, something that would make me sad the bowl was empty when I was finished. I’ve found that recipe, and I’ve found that secret ingredient that makes it all the better. I hope this bisque is as amazing for you as it was for me.

Scrumptious Sweet Potato Sticks

You can cut these steak fry size or quarter small sweet potatoes. Since my husband ensures that I have every kitchen gadget known to man, I have a commercial strength french fry cutter. Cutting sweet potatoes down to regular french fry size is very tasty. The large cut is perfect. When you get it just right, they are crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Yummy!

Moroccan Rice with Dried Fruit & Nuts

I modified this recipe to be able to make it with what I had on hand. For instance, the original recipe called for fresh saffron and white rice; however, I don’t keep fresh saffron in my cupboard, but I had a package of saffron rice. I am posting the recipe as I made it, so that I can be confident that you’re getting a good recipe that I’ve tried out.
