30 Days of Thankfulness Day 13

My parents were high school sweethearts. If you’d have asked my mom, when she was 17, what she wanted to be when she grew up, her answer was, “Bill’s wife.” Their high school year books are filled with references to their relationship. “Have a good summer! Good luck with you and Bill!” They’ve been married 45 years, have four children, and seven grandchildren. Somehow, they managed to create a functional, Godly home amongst the cultural revolution of the 70’s and 80’s.

“Training Wheels” for Chopsticks

While I was in Las Vegas at the Romance Novel Convention, I had the pleasure of having dinner with the beautiful author Suzan Tisdale. We ate at a hibachi grill in the hotel where the convention was held. She had never used chopsticks before and I told her how I “trained” my kids to use them and promised her I would write a blog post about it.

Our Sound Bite Culture

There’s a woman I know who is young – maybe 21-years-old or even younger. She has three children by three men and has never been married. She lives with her mother. Her current boyfriend does not live with her, but he does spend the night often. She gambles regularly. And, she is deeply spiritual. You won’t find someone who talks about Jesus Christ more than her.
