A Fresh Outlook & A New Schedule

I had my day and my week planned down to the minute. My home ran like a well oiled machine. Things would interrupt that smooth operation — an out of town trip, the early stages of garden growing when you have to be outside tending the garden constantly, a night with no sleep and a cranky child — but for the most part, it was all good. For three years I excelled at the housekeeping part of homemaking.

Of Course It’s Not Easy! It’s Work!

Homemaking is a job. It requires full time attention. It encompasses a huge amount of responsibility from maintaining a clean home, doing laundry, cooking, caring for children, caring for the spouse, gardening, preserving, etc. etc. For some of us, it also includes homeschooling.

And They Said It Couldn’t Be Done

After eating chili and peanut butter sandwiches, they each grabbed a chocolate cupcake and ran around the church gym, playing and running and playing some more. A friend stopped me at one point in just a panic. “Have you see their shirts?” Another one came up to me, “They’ll never come clean. Chocolate just doesn’t come out.” Another one said, “I don’t know how you’re staying so calm.”

Whole Wheat Bread Bowls

A friend of mine posted a Facebook status about homemade potato soup that she put in Panera bread bowls, and I made the comment that they wouldn’t be hard to make. A few days later, she flagged me on the Hallee the Homemaker fanpage and asked if I’d made bread bowls yet. So, here they are.

Blizzard Bloghop Tour: Seven Is Heaven

We’re here for round seven as I play tour guide on a whirlwind trip through the Blissdom Blizzard folks who got snowed in and Bloghopped instead. I reacquainted myself with some great friends I already knew and hopefully made some new friends along the way. I’ll post about 10 tourspots a day in no particular order until we get through the list.
