Here’s the menu for my family for the week of May 16th. As far as desserts go, right now my kids are content with Snow Cones and ice cream. I may make a batch of Whole Wheat Dark Chocolate Chip Cookies just to keep the cookie jar filled.

Here’s the menu for my family for the week of March 7th. As far as desserts go, my cookie jar sat empty for so long that I finally removed it from the counter, and my husband hasn’t had homemade cookies from me in WEEKS. Consequently, I’m declaring this week to be cookie week. My husband is getting Oatmeal Raisin Cinnamon Chip Cookies, and my kids are getting Whole Wheat Dark Chocolate Chip Cookies. That jar will be refilled! It’s also Kaylee’s birthday party Saturday. She wants a tiered zebra striped cake. This oughta be fun. :-)
Pin ItI try to keep chocolate chip cookies in our cookie jar all the time. My kids love them. Sometimes I’ll spread them into a jelly roll pan and cut them into bar cookies, other times I make traditional cookies. I love them with pecans or walnuts. Molasses keeps them chewy and gives them a more brown sugar flavor than most recipes.
Pin ItThese treats were made for Kaylee’s 4th grade teachers and school administrators — so, 3 years ago. They weren’t designed to offer any kind of tutorial in how to do them, so I apologize for that, but they give you an idea of how easy it is to put together something personal, something special for those people in your life whom you want to gift with Valentines.
Pin ItSince there is just a week left until Christmas Eve, I thought I’d consolidate some recipe ideas for you.
Pin ItHere’s the menu for my family for the week of December 13th. As far as desserts go, I’m going to do some Christmas baking this week. Today is a snow day for our local schools, so I’m going to get a batch of sugar cookies going and have the kids make Gregg’s Gingerbread Houses and Royal Icing.
Pin ItTo aid you in your Christmas baking this year, we are giving away a Wilton Cookie Pro!
I have one and I LOVE it. I use it to make Chocolate Wreath Cookies and Butter Wreath Cookies for Christmas time. Once you have a whole pan of cookies, you can dip them in chocolate or white chocolate, sprinkle them, frost them, or just eat them as they cool.
Here’s the menu for my family for the week of November 29th. As far as desserts go, My husband’s birthday is in 2 weeks. I’m going to prepare his birthday box, and include Heavenly Red Velvet Cake mini cupcakes and some Stuffed Red Velvet Cookies (not stuffed). In the meantime, our cookie jar is getting low, so I’ll probably make some whole wheat chocolate chip cookies (which I strangely don’t have a recipe up for and will rectify that soon!)
Pin ItHere’s the menu for my family for the week of November 8th. As far as desserts go, I am going to begin baking for my husband’s birthday and Christmas baking, so I have some red velvet cookies to make. I also think that I’m going to make some apple turnovers or something similar to post a recipe for your holiday baking planning.
Pin ItMonday, as I was baking for the week and making both kinds of bread, I pulled out my worn recipes and followed them, carefully, step-by-step. As I did this, I was reminded of something that an ex-inlaw once said to me. She said that I wasn’t a real cook because I measured. She said that real cooks don’t have to measure.
