DAILY CHORE LIST
WEEKLY CHORE~LAUNDRY LIST

Monday through Friday:

Monday evenings, Gregg and I do our weekly volunteering for Glen Eden Youth Center.

Scott is in preschool on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00-12:00.

Wednesdays we have church in the evening and Thursdays or Fridays are our typical date nights – depending on the date of the week.

On Fridays, after I finish the morning chores, we go to the nearest large town and do our weekly shopping, which includes stops at Whole Foods and often ethnic grocery stores.  We usually have lunch with Gregg while we’re out.

Kaylee and I exercise together at 5:30 most mornings.  We have a family breakfast at 7:00, which includes reading a chapter out of the book of Proverbs that corresponds with the day of the month (for instance, on the 11th, we read chapter 11, etc.).  After breakfast, I make lunches for everyone and Gregg is usually gone by 7:30.

I drive Kaylee (and Scott 2 days a week) to school at 7:45. I come home and do the daily chores, working on any baking that has to be done as well.  I try to be completely done with all of my chores by 12PM.  Mondays and Wednesdays might take until 2PM, because they’re the major bulk of the cleaning.  I pick Kaylee up at 3:20, Gregg is home between 5:00-6:00, and we sit down to dinner at 6:30.  The boys are in baths by 7:30, and are in bed, after reading 2 books a piece, by 8:30.  Kaylee typically goes to bed about 9:30, and Gregg and I try to get to bed by 10:00.

Saturdays:

Saturdays are a time for family group chores, shopping, movies — whatever we need to do on that day.  It will change week to week and incorporate anything from tilling the garden to Christmas shopping and everything in-between.  I still get up at 5:00 so that I can have my Bible study time and exercise.  The rest of the household is free to sleep until they wake up.

Sundays:

42-16426596Sundays are spent as a family, together in worship to God. I do not set an alarm Sunday mornings, and I sleep until my body wakes me up. I do minimal chores – making beds and doing dishes – and no laundry. I don’t write, and I don’t blog. We do have a family planning time where we’ll go through the next week’s schedule and menu. We try not to go out to eat or to patronize any businesses, but we aren’t purists in this area and will have lunch out with our Sunday School class once a month, or if we need milk or some necessary staple I’ll run to the store. But we prefer not to.

We go to Sunday School Sunday morning, followed by church. After church is lunch, then family time. Gregg and I sit down and talk about our week – what worked, what didn’t.  We go over the next week’s schedule, plans, dates, and menu.

We lead a small group Bible study in the evenings at 6, where we serve soup and sandwiches for the group.  You will see a different soup on my menu every week.

I try to get to bed a little earlier on Sundays, because Monday morning starts my week, and my week doesn’t provide too much time for rest.
