Easy Christmas Wreath

I priced Christmas wreaths sometime before Thanksgiving and was just appalled at what they’re getting for these things. I was at Garden Ridge, so I looked at a $49 wreath and made one as nearly identical to it as I could.

Keeping It All Together

Filling up the entire side of my fridge, is my life. I can stand back, with my back against the wall, and see the entire year laid out in front of me. I see upcoming birthdays, doctor appointments, days of my husband’s flight home (YAY!), days school gets out, days I need to bake bread for the church bazaar — whatever is coming up is right there.

Commissary Day

It’s over a two-hour drive to get to the commissary from our house, so I shop about every three months (other than my weekly grocery trip for dairy and produce). This trip will include what I need for all of my holiday baking, and should get me through the New Year.

Gems

One of the first things she asked me was what I was doing. I told her I was a homemaker in a small town in Kentucky, married to the most amazing man in the world and mother to three absolutely wonderful children. Her reaction puzzled me and hurt me at the same time.

Easily Amused

The more I stared at all of those beautiful, shiny cleaning machines, the more I realized that buying our own steam cleaner would actually be much more cost effective that renting one about every other month.

Changing Seasons

I love the change in seasons. As summer ends and the mornings cool, the leaves change colors and school routines fall in place, my mind turns to — seasonal housekeeping!
