These treats were made for Kaylee’s 4th grade teachers and school administrators — so, 3 years ago. They weren’t designed to offer any kind of tutorial in how to do them, so I apologize for that, but they give you an idea of how easy it is to put together something personal, something special for those people in your life whom you want to gift with Valentines.

Here’s the menu for my family for the week of December 27th. As far as desserts go, we still have some Captain Crunch Candy and some fudge left, but the cookie jar is empty. I will probably make some easy cookie to fill the jar and use the left over marshmallow cream and Rice Crispies from the goodies I made last week and make some Rice Crispies treats. We’ll also make a celebration New Year’s 2011 cake.
Pin ItBut, for those of you who may not want delicate fried dough sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar or drizzled with warm honey (YUM!), here is a list of some ideas for Christmas morning. Some things can be made ahead of time so that all you have to do is serve, and some things are just simply festive.
Pin ItSince there is just a week left until Christmas Eve, I thought I’d consolidate some recipe ideas for you.
Pin ItWhen my mom makes turkey gravy, she always makes giblet gravy (recipe to follow). It took me many years to learn how to make any other kind of gravy. Now that I make this recipe, it would be hard for me to say whether I prefer giblet gravy over this traditional gravy or not! It is really flavorful and the perfect compliment to the rest of your Thanksgiving feast.
Pin ItWelcome to the Thanksgiving Extravaganza! I’m so happy that you joined us!
I cooked a big Thanksgiving Dinner for my family, and am excited to share it with you! Everything has its own separate and more detailed post, so I’ve linked each one here.
Pin ItWhen I first read this recipe, I didn’t understand what the instructions meant. Once I started performing the actions, they made perfect sense. I’m glad I take pictures, because I’d probably explain the process to you in circles! These rolls were light and wonderful – a perfect compliment to our Thanksgiving feast – or any feast for that matter!
Pin ItScott calls these “salads” and will eat them raw if I let him. I love them – boiled, steamed, roasted – it doesn’t matter to me. I’ve tried different seasonings, spices, and methods, and it all comes back to just simple salt and pepper and a roasting in olive oil – that makes the best way to serve them for me.
Pin ItRoasting a turkey may seem like a daunting task, but it’s really not that difficult. It’s just a matter of making sure it’s cooked all the way more than anything, and making sure you don’t over-cook it. Under-cooked turkey is a health hazard, and over-cooked turkey can be dry.
Pin ItI love pecan pie. It is absolutely one of my favorite pies. This was the first time I made this particular recipe for pumpkin pie and I loved it. It’s easy, few ingredients, and tastes fantastic. I used whole wheat flour and coconut oil for the crust.
