One of the reasons I love Valentine’s Day is because there are so many different from-the-kitchen crafty ideas – easy, inexpensive, fun ways to show someone you love them. You can keep it as simple as some construction paper and paper doilies, or go as extreme as cookie flower bouquets.

These cupcakes were so much fun to make. I just put them together with things I had in my pantry.
Pin ItAs much as I enjoy feeding my family, breakfast on Christmas morning always feels like an afterthought to me. We’ve usually been up for hours, opening presents and sipping on coffee and hot chocolate, when suddenly everyone is hungry and I just don’t feel like cooking or dirtying up dishes.
Pin ItAs I write this, it’s December 6th and we have just under three weeks to prepare for our Christmas baking gift giving. This is a tradition my mother taught me, and something I look forward to and plan for every single year.
Pin ItI cooked a big Thanksgiving Dinner for my family, and am excited to share it with you! Everything has its own separate and more detailed post, so I’ve linked each one within the post.
Pin ItI love finding a recipe that will be my new go-to recipe for entertaining. We had company for dinner, and since we’re observing a Daniel Fast, this was our main course using acorn squash. The next evening, we served a soup and had this as a side using pumpkins. The rice is amazing alone, but pared with the winter squash, it is remarkable. This would be beautiful gracing any holiday table.
Pin ItHere’s the menu for my family for the week of April 18th. As far as desserts go, last week I thought I was cooking for Kaylee’s softball team, but that is this week. So, I’ll be making Delectable Deluxe Brownies Tuesday. We’re observing a Passover Seder on Wednesday, and I’m going to attempt a flour-free lemon cheesecake. The children will be making Resurrection Cookies Saturday night.
Pin ItMy children LOVE corned beef. They get so excited when I make it. I love making homemade corned beef hash with the leftovers (when there are leftovers!)
Pin ItWhile all this was going on, a woman got out of the passenger’s seat of the car, opened the trunk, removed a walker, and started slowly hobbling her way into the restaurant. The doctor ordered and the waitress came and went while this woman inch by inch made it to the table.
Pin ItThis is a wonderful recipe if you’re looking for something light. The raspberry sauce is amazingly simple, so fresh tasting and crisp, and the meringue is light and fluffy and literally melts in your mouth. It is a perfect dessert for Valentine’s Day or for an anniversary celebration.
