August 6, 2009, Hallee the Homemaker started a blog. I cannot believe it’s been a whole year. Ten fantastic giveaways, over 50 menu plans, more than 3,300 comments, an unbelievable 50,000+ visitors, and nearly 200 recipes later, we are hosting our biggest giveaway yet!
So, I went to bed Tuesday night praying that things would work out. I didn’t hear from Gregg Wednesday morning, and briefly wondered if he was working or on a plane. Wednesday afternoon, he instant messaged me from the Dubai airport! AND, he would be home on Thursday! TWO full days earlier than originally scheduled.
I really enjoyed teaming up with Cathy’s Creations for this giveaway. She donated this beautiful bracelet, and Hallee the Homemaker threw in one of her charms. We had 118 entries. Using random.org, the winner is:

Cathy is an amazing artist. She is to beads what Mary is to yarn. She has a beautiful eye for color and elegance that can hardly be surpassed. I have several friends who have their own Cathy creations, and they were just as thrilled with the product in person as they were with the pictures on her website when they ordered them.

When Stephanie Langford of Keeper of the Home emailed me and asked me to review her new book, Real Food on a Real Budget How to Eat Healthy for Less, I’ll admit that I was a little apprehensive. As a writer affiliated with writerly things, I’ve never been a big fan of self-published works. There’s often something to be said for a professional editing job.
