Today is for love and friendship and family and good food and realizing everything for which we have to be Thankful. It is also about thanking the right Person.
This morning, when he came downstairs, he was talking about scaring the monster. I was on a video conference with Gregg, so he bypassed me and went straight to Daddy.
As I cooked and thought of all of these things, I wondered if my friend felt this deluge of emotions as she enters the final stretch in her pregnancy. If this moment means so much more to her now that she’s suffered such horrible loss this year. Not to say that the child will mean more than her daughter, but the knowledge of the journey garnered, for me at least, a greater appreciation for just how big this blessing from God is.
Monday will begin the collection week for this year’s Operation Christmas Child, a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse.

I believe God loves the effort of more for Him. I think He wants us to make worship for Him special, remarkable, beautiful, ceremonial. If we can do that without becoming legalistic, if we keep the focus on how we’re worshiping the Alpha and Omega, our Savior, Messiah, Redeemer, and friend, then the effort ought to be nothing but pleasing to God.
