Loving a Life of Biblical Womanhood

So, I’m bringing it to you. I would like to do a Bible/book study that would most benefit you. Knowing who my audience is, I think an awesome place to start would be one of two books by Stormie O’Martin. Both books have been wonderful tools for me, have provided substantial encouragement, and taught me a few things as well.
A story in the Bible that has always stood out to me has been the story of Mary and Martha. Mary and Martha were sisters and hosted Jesus and his disciples in their home. In Luke 10:38-42, we read that while Martha prepared the meal and served it, her sister Mary sat at Jesus’ feet and listened to him teach. Martha complained to Jesus that her sister was not helping her, and Jesus gently chastised her because Mary was not wrong in wanting to listen to Jesus’ teaching.
Today is Ash Wednesday and the first day of Lent, both of which mark the beginning of the observance of the Easter Season. Ash Wednesday comes from the practice of placing ashes on the foreheads of the faithful as a sign of repentance. Traditionally, the ashes used are gathered after the Palm Crosses from the previous year’s Palm Sunday are burned and mixed with oil. In the Roman Catholic Church, Ash Wednesday is observed by fasting, abstinence from meat, and repentance. It is a day for contemplating one’s transgressions. Ash Wednesday is also the first day of Lent.
Pin ItI meet with friends semi-annually at the nearby outlets to share a meal, quickly catch up on our lives, and give our children a chance to play together. We look forward to this so much. It is not just about the outlet deals, but the camaraderie and fun associated with the trip.
My very dear friends and some respected and loved fellow bloggers are filling in for me for a long overdue weekend away with my husband.
Today is for love and friendship and family and good food and realizing everything for which we have to be Thankful. It is also about thanking the right Person.
I had some friends over for dinner last night. I’m not as good at entertaining people as my husband is. I’m much better at cooking and serving a meal while I listen to him entertaining and interacting with people (heh). But cooking for people is what I love to do, and even though he’s gone, he encourages me to still have people over.
