In my post about cancer awareness month, I encouraged everyone to order a free breast self exam shower card here and to use it. Select a day once a month to do a self-exam. I also encouraged everyone to find a buddy and remind each other to do your breast exams.

Pin ItWhen I approached my friend Raechel, the talented seamstress of Maker’s Hands, about making something for this giveaway month, she got excited. She had found this amazing fabric and couldn’t wait for the excuse to make it into an apron. I LOVE this fabric. It’s unique and not overly pink.
Pin ItCathy of Cathy’s Creations named this beautiful bracelet for her mother, Sofia, who battled breast cancer and died when Cathy was just a young woman. Read the story of the bracelet on her site and try to come out of it without tears in your eyes. Cathy is a wonderful woman with a beautiful soul who so quickly and willingly donated this bracelet.
Pin ItI hesitated before having this done. My husband loves long hair on me. I’ve always personally liked it kind of short, but it’s an easy way to make him happy to keep it long. When I mentioned to him that I had hair long enough to donate to Locks of Love, he immediately started encouraging me to do so. His mother died from breast cancer, and he watched her lose her hair then wear a wig for quite a few of her last months. He told me he loved my hair, long or short, and would love it even more knowing that I’d donated again to Locks of Love (I did it before 3 years ago and Kaylee did it 2 years ago.)
