Menu for the week of May 3, 2010.
The “rules” of our household diet can be found in the tab above labeled Hallee’s Galley and further explained in Our Diet.
I usually serve leftovers for lunch the next day, or we’ll save them during the week to graze lunch on the weekends. One meal a week, we eat whatever we want. This is usually our “Dinner Out” meal.
Almost all of the breads are homemade using fresh milled flour. I’ll continue to link to my recipes as I post them.
Here’s the menu for my family for the week of Monday, May 3rd. This week is Cinco de Mayo AND Mother’s Day! So, this is going to be a fun week for cooking. I love making menus for special occasions. I will be spending Mother’s Day weekend at my parents’ so I won’t have control over the menu there, but I do plan on bringing my mom a cheesecake (I haven’t decided what kind yet, so you may be getting an new cheesecake recipe headed your way soon!). For Cinco de Mayo, I’m going to make a Tres Leches cake . On top of that, I received an email from my husband asking for “cookies, lots of cookies.” Apparently, homemade cookies are a big hit at his office, and everyone waits around for him to get a new box from home.
Spaghetti with Italian Turkey Sausage Sauce, garden salad, French Bread
Beef Stew, cheddar biscuits, garden salad
Wednesday Cinco de Mayo!:
Grilled Mexican Citrus Chicken (recipe to follow), Spanish Rice (recipe to follow), seasoned corn
Southern Fried Chicken, Perfect Brown Rice, gravy, peas, garden salad
At my parents’ house.
At my parent’s hosue.

Have you heard of this product? It’s called The Bible Bar. They are like granola bars but based on foods of the Bible. http://www.theherbdoc.com/Products/OtherProducts/BibleFoods.asp#Bible Bar Nut
One of my friends told me about them and said they were quite yummy. When I read about them, I thought of your blog and wanted to pass on the information.
Those are so neat! It reminds me of the Ezekial bread. Thank you for the link. It’s not easy to find any kind of snack bars like these that don’t have either high fructose corn syrup or soy in them.
Sounds great! I am looking forward to seeing some of the recipes! I think I’m starting to get the hang of dinner planning… guess breakfast is next! Just found out my husband won’t be eating dinner with us for my Cinco de Mayo meal… now I’m debating whether to have it another day or just fix it for the 4 year old and myself. Hmm…
