So glad you can bless your husband in this way. They are pretty too!

  • Oh, that is so sweet. I hope they arrive in tact!!

I’m a little jealous of your waffle iron! I have a belgian one and while i like it they don’t fit into my toaster…so i can’t freeze them to reheat. Perhaps I will have to look into a new one. I do hope they make it there in one piece!

  • OH!! I DO remember that conversation!!! :) I’ve successfully sent cookies – but I’ve heard people have sent banana breads too – I can’t wait to hear how this works out!!! :) I”m sure Greg can’t wait either!!!

We sent David birthday cake one time….
Cut a big piece, and used the vacuum sealer on it.
It was so gross as it had icing and cake all smooshed down…
We sent it as a joke. Just so he could “have” a piece. But didn’t think he’d actually eat it.
    And oh, he did.
He said it tasted fine other than being smooshed.

I bet the waffles will be delicious!

I’ll definitely have to try them now since you’re the fourth person who has raved about them! Our homeschool grain co-op shares a lot of information through an email loop. Recently waffle recipes came up and this one was voted #1. Thanks for the great tips on packaging them up. I’d love to freeze some for my son, but he doesn’t like them unless they are fresh. I’ll see if I can fool him next time.

And to Heather: If you buy a toaster with the bagel slots you’ll be able to fit a half Belgian waffle in each slot. May be cheaper than a waffle iron, but I’m not sure about that.

Did they arrive and were they yummy? :) I am about to go try the recipe for the first time.
