I’m sure your daughter already has a place in mind for Friday, but a new Chinese/ Seafood place opened up recently here in Tallahassee. It’s called Ocean Garden (Or something like that), located on Apalachee Parkway. There’s also Ming Tree, about a mile or two up the road. Both come highly recomended. Enjoy your visit to our fair city! :)

Actually, her favorite place was Rice Bowl on Monroe, but she told me last night that it was closed down. We’re both bummed. But that means we’re open to suggestions!

Seems like I’ve eaten at Ming Tree. Does it have big golden lions at the entrance?

It sure does. It’s where I first discovered that brown rice is actually good. I used to think that brown rice was “hippie food.” lol I’ve since discovered a more natural way of living, including making my own bread. We don’t follow a particular diet, per se, but as part of our faith we practice something called the Word of Wisdom. Basically, we believe that our bodies are gifts from God and that we shouldn’t pollute them. We are encouraged to eat whole grains and eat meat in moderation. We also abstaine from alchohol, tobacco, etc. You recipes are a welcomed variation from the same-old, same-old. I love that your recipes that call for alcohol include a substitute and are balanced, wholesome, and yummy. (I do use alcohol in recipes where there’s a cooking process in which the alcohol will be cooked off, but the flavor will remain.) My husband and I have agreed that we’re going to use cloth diapers when the little ones come around. (I used your post to show him that it’s much easier than he imagined. THANKS!)
I am so glad that I found your blog! It’s beautiful to see that Christian womanhood is still alive and kickin’ in this country. The next time you speak with your husband, please give him a big “thank you” for his service to our country!
