i love the concept of this show! i watched part of it sunday night and hope to remember to watch the rest friday night. i literally felt sick watching the food be put on that table and the amount. i am so glad he is doing this show!
Heather – the concept of the show made me think of the name of your blog — Out of the Box, Into the Kitchen. Brilliant, my friend.
thanks!
My husband and I watched this show. He kept looking over at me and would smile because I have been tyring to drill into his head about eating fresh/homemade and not processed. Of course, I am not perfect and don’t eat as fresh as I would like, but I try to stay away from packaged foods as much as possible.
Hopefully it will convict him, too! If I didn’t have Gregg’s whole-hearted support, I don’t know how dedicated I would have become to it.
LOVE Jamie Oliver and have ever since I saw him for the first time on Food Network. The fact that he could cook REAL food on a small budget was phenomenal. We don’t all have to be rich to eat well. We just have to make the smartest choices with our money.
I was approached about taking over the lunches for our church’s private Christian school next year. I was told that if I did it, I wouldn’t be able to cook “my way” because they said the school couldn’t afford it and they kids wouldn’t eat it. If I decide to do it (and I’m leaning towards not just because I don’t want the boys in a daycare environment and I don’t need a job — I’d rather leave a job out there for someone who does need one) then I would beg to differ. I’d either cook “real food” or not cook at all.
I LOVED the first episode!!! I wanted to jump through the screen and hug poor Jamie when he was so upset varius times over the “cafeteria ladies” and whatnot! I think he’s going to do good things, and hopefully shed some light on the problem with food in North America.
ok so i finally watched the whole thing! i couldn’t believe the lunch ladies or the kids not knowing what a vegetable was! ok so i blogged about it!
[...] then pretend that it isn't there. What? Hallee the Homemaker angry? Yes. I am. I watch shows like Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution and get fired up about our kids' school lunches and the health of the children today, and assume [...]
