*dreamy sigh*
What a wonderful weekend!! I LOVE the photos you took of the food!
I also want to compliment you on such a great menu for the weekend! We’ve always taken along groceries when we go places, but I never thought about taking along our “George”!! And the Crock pot overnight?? FABulous! :)
I’m so glad you had a wonderful refreshing weekend with your hubby!
You two deserve it!
glad you had a good time and that ‘george’ was a help rather than a hindrance!
wow you became quite resourceful for cooking! im sure gregg loved every bit of it! and im sure he didn’t have to force himself to eat it! it sounds like a wonderful weekend!
So glad to hear that you enjoyed your weekend. The food looked wonderful! Very creative and inspiring!
What a good idea! Looks like some yummy meals there :)
once again AMAZING!! Glad you enjoyed your weekend and glad you were able to cook. You inspire me in so many ways!!
We too always bring groceries… usually just stuff to make sandwiches, and other fun convienence foods that we don’t normally eat.
Bringing the George Foreman and a crockpot is a brilliant idea.
It’s hard sometimes to take that time away as a couple, especially when it’s R&R and they have so little time at home to begin with. So glad y’all were able to make some wonderful husband and wife memories!
My brother-in-law’s family is Brazilian. Apparently, in Portuguese, you can’t end a word with a “g” sound. So they always call my sister’s George Foreman grill the “Georgie” Foreman. It’s stuck with my family too. :)
Did you like Book of Eli? We wanted to go see it when we went on our date night but weren’t sure about it. If you liked it I’ll tell him we should rent it when it comes out. I trust your judgement. :)
Good idea with the crockpot! We’re going to Denver for a week with the kids and my parents this summer to check it out since we’ll be moving there and we were planning on getting a hotel with a kitchen. I will bring the crockpot so we can make food and let it cook all day, I never would have thought of it!! You look like you had a great time and made some awesome food! :)
Hiya,
Personally, I enjoyed it and so did Hallee. You kind of have to appreciate our tastes. She hates movies that portray injustice so we don’t see a lot of films set in prisons. I do not like horror movies. Neither of us watch anything portraying any kind of overt sex scenes or any extramarital sex that is not historically accurate or of literary importance (E.g: we would probably allow for Samson and Delilah, David and Bathsheba, The Scarlet Letter, King Arthur, etc.). If extreme and graphic violence disturbs you, Eli isn’t a film I would recommend.
We always check the plugged-in reviews before committing to a film. Here is the plugged-in review from Focus on the Family. Warning: The review has spoilers! But there are also spoiler warnings. We read the review and the spoilers beforehand. It didn’t affect our enjoyment of the film, I don’t believe.
Phronsie – I loved The Book of Eli. But, I must preface that by saying that I’m good with violence. I don’t like gore – things like (Saw?) don’t appeal to me in the slightest. I love definitive good guy fighting definitive bad guy with the good guy winning, even if he’s a little beat-up and bloody in the end. I also love choreographed sword fighting and such. The Book of Eli gave me all that and more. It was wonderful – the kind of movie that you felt like standing up and applauding in the end. Someone from Facebook told me that their theater gave it a standing ovation.
How cool! What an awesome weekend! Can’t wait until mine comes home. :D I’m already starting to work on plans although keeping it flexible.
what a great idea bringing the george foreman along what a frugal and great idea and better yet no need in going out
What an amazing spread! That looks great even if you had all the amenities of home. :)
