Cookies – how I love thee! ;) I love your sprinkle collection and your box of cut outs. I have 3 bags of mixed cutouts some which were my husband’s great grandmother’s (I have her old fashioned press too), but I don’t have letters which would be VERY cool.
Thanks for sharing the essentials and not so essentials! :)
PS…I will never cook cookies without my silpats – they are an “extra” that really make a huge difference.
The letters are AWESOME for my homeschooling preschool. We love making cookies of the new letter and finding cookies cutters of things that start with that letter. (Not really looking forward to more obscure ones – some cows are going to turn into yaks, and some horses into zebras – lol).
I looked at my sil pads and thought to put them in there, then changed my mind. Mine aren’t “real” and I don’t like them much so I tend to use parchment paper more. (I guess I should have added that – I may revise the post.)
Yeah, the real silpats (silpat brand) are WAY different (and better) than the knock off ones. I have one knock off and I hate it although I don’t mind the knock off bread & cake pans as much.
Thankfully all my silpats were Christmas gifts or bought with Christmas gift cards. They are definitely worth the investment.
i love my rolling mat…i use it ALL the time! i was afraid id never use it and it wasn’t cheap either. i also use a cookie scoop too. my mom bought me some silicone baking pans for xmas they are AWESOME!
You have an awesome collection! Quite impressive! Makes me feel like going out shopping for baking goodies. My only can’t-live-without-it baking essential is my stand mixer. I wonder how the heck I used to bake without that, I know I did once upon a time but I just can’t imagine how!
Mary – no doubt! I love my stand mixer. Probably one of the best kitchen investments we’ve ever made. My hands are very weak (by the end of cooking a big group meal I am dropping things and can’t grip anything). I couldn’t do what I do with homemade breads and cookies and such without it.
I have that EXACT same box of cookie cutters! I inherited it from a friend and I absolutely love the variety of cutters. I do believe, he told me, they are from Sam’s Club or Costco if anyone is interested. I am using them today to make an assortment of Valentine’s sugar cookies and I am so excited! I also love my silicone mat. I agree it’s not necessary but it is certainly easier to contain a loose flour pile, etc… Thanks for the post! I enjoyed it like I enjoy them all. I also bought the cookie scoop at Target–it was in the Christmas clearance section and I got it for 75% off. Again, while not necessary, it is a nice tool especially for less than $2. Blessings, M.
