And then there’s my way… I use a rice cooker. :)
For my brown rice, I use the Trader Joe’s brown jasmine rice. I put 1 1/2 cups of rice into the pot, add water to the ’2′ line, plus about halfway to the ’3′ line… put the lid on, push the button, and walk away. he he…. It cooks it perfectly every single time.
Oh… and my rice cooker is a little red one from Target that is only about $15. It’s awesome!
I look at rice cookers all the time and wonder if they’re worth it. You’re the first person I’ve ever heard feedback from about it. Thank you!
my mil got me a rice cooker last yr for xmas…i was SO disappointed in it b/c it was something i never wanted. ive used it twice now…my mil LOVES it though!
i think i will use it more now b/c im trying to get away from processed food. just need to find some good rice side dish recipes!
id tell a little bird you want one…maybe it will make its way to your husband’s ear! hehe
I was just telling my mom that I can’t cook rice to save my life. She laughed at me and asked how do you mess up rice? Told her I don’t know what I did but I’ve made some really bad rice in the past. Now I use those steam bags. Easy and perfect portion for me. One day I’ll really tackle rice!
umm…if you’ve been reading my blog, my rice cooker died! I was so sad to see it go, as i used it ALL THE TIME! and now here i am reading your recipe yet again b/c i needed to know the ratio to make it on the stove!
