I am so proud of you! Bargain shopping sure is fun, isn’t it?

  • Meg Gagne says:

Aw, thanks Jen! I know you and I have gone back and forth quite a bit with respect to consignment sale/store shopping and, I have to say, you were a great inspiration in catapulting me to that next “level”. It really IS fun! It is such a wonderful and “freeing” feeling to know you’re doing what’s best for your family. It’s also great to have you wonderful ladies supporting and encouraging me. I truly feel blessed to have both of you in my life. In Him, Meg.

    Great post Meg!
I have recently discovered consignments stores as well…and although I have trouble being able to spend the time I want in them (blaming the 3 year old, 1 year old, and baby :) I have found some awesome name-brand stuff! I am INCREDIBLY picky about the stuff I will buy used (imagine a super picky person and quadruple it!) and I STILL find great stuff!
With four small kids to clothe, consignment stores have become my Disneyland! :)

Meg, this was AWESOME! I just recently discovered marshalls and the best thing is they do layaway! I have never really hit consignments but will be looking, I live in my work uniform but I am always looking for stuff for the girls and can’t afford to keep paying full price since I am the only one working. Excellent job

Thanks you guys! Your words of encouragement are awesome! Steph~ you reminded me, if Hallee would be so obliged, I have another idea for a Frugal Friday post. I, too, suffer(ed) from what I call the “ick” factor of used-clothing shopping (of course, this doesn’t include new-with-tags or new-without-tags items). It’s sometimes hard to consider buying a shirt with a couple stains or whatnot on it, however, I have learned to keep an open mind with even these articles of clothing. Sisters, I have become the stain-removal master! :) There are so many home-remedy, you-have-them-in-your-pantry necessities that take ANYTHING out. Hallee~ I think we should collaborate again if you’d be so kind to have me.

I am more than up to it! Thanks for the kind invitation; I am genuinely thrilled, and honored, to participate on such a wonderful forum. Love you, M.
