Thanks – this looks good. It’s similar to a “beef stroganoff” dish I make, but since I am kinda re-making that I am going to try this one and see what hubby thinks :-)
Simple and nourishing! Looks like you could add about anything to this meal.
Thanks so much for joining up with the fake-o shamburger helper carnival!

sounds so delicious
what cuts of beef do you think would be tender enough for this? Does it have to be labelled steak?
I just buy thin, cheap steak. Nothing special or fancy at all. Whatever’s cheapest, really. It cooks long enough that you kind of cook the tender into it.
I never know what kind of beef to buy.
I didn’t have any steak so I used some sliced-up chuck roast. It needed more cooking than steak so I simmered a long time until it was tender. (I also put in a green pepper.) It will be great with mashed potatoes.
Sliced up chuck roast is pretty much chuck steak. That’s a good one to use for this. The extra fat will really flavor the gravy.
I’ve never added green pepper. I bet that’s an awesome gravy. I hope you enjoy it!
