I love apple pie. I’m a big believer that simpler is better with apple pie. I’ve tried all kinds of complicated recipes, and just keep coming back to this good old reliable apple pie recipe. You’ll be amazed and how many compliments you’ll receive with such a simple recipe.

A favorite of my family’s. I love to pull out two cast iron skillets and fry two full birds. They inhale this dish, especially when served with buttermilk biscuits, mashed potatoes, and gravy.

Here’s the menu plan for the week of 14 September 2009 for my family. As far as desserts go, I have a wedding cake and a groom’s cake to make, so I’m sure we’ll be eating cake all week.
